The private-equitization of America has hollowed out our local communities.
In our industry, PE roll-ups acquired the local agent you used to work with. Then they told that agent to stop paying attention to your account. The person you used to work with no longer makes an income on your business, so they aren’t incentivized to keep working with you. They’ve got bigger fish to fry.
Worse: your servicing may have quietly moved to a service center in another time zone. Or overseas. The next time you call, you’re a ticket number to someone who has never met you and has no idea what your business does.
All because it looks better on somebody’s bottom line.
